I'll be straightforward: I don't routinely recommend mesofat injections to everyone who wants a slimmer face. I offer consultations about them, but from what I've seen, a wide-looking face often has more going on than a bit of fat that needs to disappear. The value of an injection has to make sense for the person in front of me.
A V-shaped face isn't the same thing as a thin face
Facial shape comes from bone, muscle, fat, skin and proportions. Sometimes a relatively short chin makes the cheeks look broader. Sometimes the jaw muscle is prominent. Sometimes skin laxity changes the contour. These are different questions even though people call them all “I want a V-line.”
Why I am cautious about recommending it
My concern in some patients is that reducing facial volume may make looseness more noticeable. I don't want someone to pay to remove fullness and then feel their face looks less supported. That is an experience-based consideration, not a rule that the treatment always causes sagging.
What if there really is extra fat?
We can discuss whether a particular product is appropriate for the actual area and whether its use is supported and permitted. “Mesofat” isn't one standard medicine, and I wouldn't present unverified products as harmless. We also need to consider the limits, risks, cost and realistic alternatives.
Why I still talk about diet and exercise
If overall body fat is part of the concern, healthy eating and physical activity belong in the conversation. They are not a promise that one particular pocket of facial fat will vanish first, and I don't say them to dismiss someone. I say them because not every concern should lead directly to an injection.
Why I dislike guaranteed-result advertising
Bodies respond differently, and a procedure cannot be sold as a sure way to achieve someone else's facial shape. I want to be clear about what might change and what could remain. Paying for a number of sessions without understanding that feels wrong to me.
What happens if I don't recommend an injection?
Sometimes the next step is improving general health or weight management. Sometimes it is reassessing the proportions of the chin and cheeks. And sometimes the honest answer is that nothing needs doing right now. I don't believe every insecurity has to be matched with a treatment package.
Questions patients ask
Is mesofat the same as jaw Botox?
No. They target different tissues and are used for different reasons.
Does getting older mean I cannot consider it?
Age by itself isn't the answer. Skin laxity, facial structure and the specific product all need consideration.
