HIFU: A treatment plan before a brand name

HIFU is not just about a machine name or shot count. I prefer a plan based on your actual concern, anatomy and budget.

I don't believe the best HIFU treatment is automatically the one with the most famous machine name. I want to know what is actually causing the concern, what the equipment can reasonably do and whether the plan makes sense for the person's budget. A well-known brand isn't a shortcut around that conversation.

First, is the problem really skin laxity?

A soft jawline can come from lax skin, fat distribution, loss of volume or facial structure. These are not the same problem, even if they look similar in the mirror. Before recommending ultrasound-based lifting, I want to understand which one matters most.

Shot count matters, but it isn't everything

Coverage and shot planning matter to me because you need to treat the intended areas appropriately. But more shots do not automatically create a better or safer result. Depth, energy settings, treatment pattern, equipment and individual anatomy are all part of the picture. I don't want anyone buying a number of shots without knowing why those shots are being recommended.

Why we may discuss HIFU before filler

If someone is considering both an energy-based treatment and injections, I prefer to plan the sequence rather than do things at random. In some cases I discuss the device treatment first. The right timing depends on the actual device, product, treatment area and clinical assessment; it isn't a universal rule that heat ruins all filler or Botox.

What I don't want people to expect

HIFU is not a substitute for every filler, fat or skin treatment. Results vary, and sometimes a change that sounds dramatic in an advertisement is fairly subtle in real life. I'd rather be clear about that before someone spends money.

What are we actually trying to lift?

Imagine two people asking for a sharper jawline. One mainly has mild laxity. The other has significant fullness beneath the chin. Their treatment plans may be quite different. I would rather discuss the actual problem than sell both the same package.

Common questions

How many HIFU shots do I need?

There is no useful number without knowing the machine, area being treated and individual plan.

Can HIFU replace filler?

Not in every case. A treatment for laxity and one for volume are addressing different things.
